Default mesmer heroes

Fire Magic: 2
Illusion: 12
Fast Cast: 10
Inspiration: 8

originally intended for the mesmer to be holding a fiery spear.

so this build was an attempt to simulate roj. it fails on multiple levels. first, someone has to have a fire weapon and must hit with said weapon (block, blind, etc). the effectiveness is reduced if more than one fire weapon hits one enemy (ie burning doesn't stop before reapplied). main point is nuking, but e management via interrupt is not terrible. tried shell shock to qualify for the dazed, but alas, gwen runs out of energy. it's not meant for any serious applications - just the missions where gwen insists on coming. comments welcome.

I normally just put her on resto:
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Me/Rt_HA_Tease_Hero
With Mend Body and Soul, Spirit Light and Life instead of the optional slot, WoS and FomF plus with some lower FC.

If on the other hand you want to stick to mesmer skills - it's a waste not bringing Clumsiness and Wandering Eye when running Illusion.
Ohh and just pre-emptively - Illusion of Pain IS a waste on AI!
If you aren't running a spirit spammer already - then I'd look into this:
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Me/Rt_PvE_Tease_Hero
Put the Inspiration points into Illusion (for Clumsy and WE), bring SoS as your elite and bring Spirit Syphon as your e-management. FC at 6+1 so that you have more points to waste in Illusion.
Bloodsong or CoF for your last slot.

I've been toying around with Mesmer hero builds and something fun I found is Mantra of Recovery. Mesmer rupts have a somewhat slow recharge and to maximize its effective rupting ability, it should be cast more often. I use Power Drain, Power Spike, and Cry of Frustration. That's generally enough.

Add Power Drain and Drain Enchantment for energy. Shatter Enchantmex and Hex become better with MoR. Slower spells such as Blood Ritual and Resurrection Chant benefit from Fast Casting which you need for MoR anyway.

This may not be the best mesmer hero build around, but it sure works well and effectively.

Pardon my ignorance but I have the same question about a Fevered Dreams if it is viable because most of the skills in that bar are: Fevered Dreams, Fragility and like Upier said: Clumsiness and Wandering Eye and of course inspiration line Power Drain, Waste Not Want Not or Leech Signet but I found that this bar in particular is energy intensive and pretty much got have a little trouble in e-management.

For Upier I got a question, what you mean of a spirit spammer is a mesmer with a ritualist bar dedicated?? something like SoS, Painful Bond, Bloodsong and so on??

I'd just grab SoS, Bloodsong (or CoF), Clumsy, Wandering Eye, Spirit Syphon, Splinter, Ancestors'.
It's nowhere near as good as if you ran this on a primary ritualist - but if you NEED a mesmer hero with you it would probably be better any mesmer options you can bring.

Why not just run Roj on your mesmer?

I wouldnt personally do it, but if someone wants to get the Roj effect without using RoJ.....it seems a little pointless to run 3 or 4 skills on your bar to get the same effect as one skill.

I would say a simpler RoJ replacement would be Mark of Rodgorts and Firestorm.....

With all that said, I would just let a mesmer do what a mesmer does best.

Dont be afraid to try out Shared Burden if you want to use Illusion. I personally use on a mesmer hero in HM. It basically makes the creatures act as if they were in NM.

I also like Tease (8 Insp & 14/15 Dom) with Cry, Pspike, Empathy, Backfire, Shame, Guilt...then rez.

Everyone talks like mesmer heroes are completely worthless. Until you have played a mesmer effectively, you shouldn't be so quick to dismiss them. If you don't want to spend the time/effort trying to put together a great build..just run empathy/backfire/E surge and fill in the rest. That's high damage right there. You can run it as an energy denial/shutdown mes with rupts or an illusionairy degen mes. There are alot of mes skills that add fast degen/dmg with low energy and recharge times. If you still insist mes is boring and worthless, run a fast cast nuker. Overall, mesmers can be one of the most versatile players in a party and with a little creativity they can be extremely fun.

I haven't had a great time with dom heroes doing their job properly. Most of the time the hexes end up on the wrong monster. E-surge is pretty poor damage in non-hm situations, and I think its too weak without CoP supporting it if you want a strong damage build.

When I run a mes hero, it's usually Tease+cry of frustration+ Power spike/drain+ other team skills. The first build upier posted works well enough in PVE.

As far as the OP build goes, you're going to want to stack a lot of conditions for FD to be effective. The point of FD is to spread nasty conditions (weakness, deep wound, cripple, daze) across a group of monsters and make them much easier to kill. Just using RoJ won't provide strong enough damage to kill mobs quickly.
